Hi, my name is Josiah Collins and I've been designing spaces, florals and events for years now. Eight to be exact. I'm a self trained interior stylist and making spaces work for people is my passion in life. My goal as a designer is to design a space that feels like your favorite pair of jeans. A space that calms the mind and warms the heart. A space that makes you smile a little every time you walk through the door. 

Our homes are meant to be a reflection of who we are and often times my clients feel that they can't seem to get their space to feel right. Well that's where I come in, I step into your space and I turn your dream into reality! 

I get asked this question frequently. The first and more traditional route, is where we agree upon project deliverables. I work until the deliverables are completed. So, this includes things like sourcing of home goods, mood boards, to installation.

The second Is called  "Designer For A Day" D.F.A.D. is a quick and easy way to deal with those annoying tasks or questions that have been bothering you for some time. This is a full scope service that allows the client to gain some helpful insight on the design process of their home. It lets the clients be more hands on, learn a few things about their style and check a few unchecked boxes off of their to-do list.

Decisions can be hard, and sometimes daunting. Are you too afraid to pick a paint color? Not sure which shade of wood works best for your style?  Or maybe you don't even know your style, well that's where I can help. 

During the beginning stages of the design process, I will work with you to better understand your wants and needs. Sometimes its something as simple as a new layout and the right rug. Whatever it is, I'm here to help you figure that out. 

Consultations are a great way for me, the designer, to meet you and bounce design ideas, find out your wants/needs and help you better understand your home. During the consult, any suggestions by me can be used. Always make sure to have pen and paper ready, any ideas I have are yours to keep.

Most consults last for 2 hours and any design questions you have I'm more than happy to answer. You will receive a mood board for the rooms that were discussed. This will help you the client get a better understanding of the inspiration for your spaces. 

Some clients only need help sourcing the right type of marble and backsplash for their kitchen. I can help design a few things or I can help you manage a project from beginning to the end. Its totally up to you with how much or how little help you would like. No two projects are alike and so, no two budgets are either. 

Where I differ from most other interior designers is that I'm happy to take on small and large projects. Sometimes projects need to be broken up for ease of convince or even budgetary constraints. Regardless of the reason, I'm always here to help. 

Understanding your budget can be complicated. How much do I want to pay for something? It's really pretty easy. I have the client show me inspiration pictures of what they are wanting to create and I source similar pieces that fit within their budget. Some designs can be as little as $5k and others $100k or more. It all depends on the materials and products. 

When trying to figure out your budget, I always say "stay with what makes you feel comfortable" Remember that 5-10% of your budget should be allocated for design fees. 

Choosing the wrong paint color or picking the wrong finish for your lighting can completely change the mood of a room from bad to worse. A lot of these faux pas can be avoided by hiring a designer. No one wants to pay to have things redone.  I have a wealth of knowledge that is at your disposal when you hire me and can save you money in the long run. 

Did you know that I recommend milk glass shades for ceiling lights? Why you ask? Well, first off it allows the light to pass softly through the glass. Second, clear glass appears more harsh, will always show dust and will not create as much of a relaxing atmosphere.
